Hunter Gatherers

Written by Peter Sinn Nachtrieb

Directed by Matthew Anderson

The Garage Theatre’s 50th production!!!

The Garage Theatre, in its 11th season, is producing its 50th show and what better than to present Hunter Gatherers, described by Nachtrieb as Lord of the Flies meets Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf? This seemingly sophisticated, annual dinner party is about to get raw. Come with us to the place where our primal instincts are flirting with whom you think we are now. An outrageous evening of hilarious proportions is about to unfold with a dash of deception, and a sprinkling of sexy time. Toss in some wrestling, a little dancing, we’ll even kick the whole thing off with an animal sacrifice, taboot!

“Peter Sinn Nachtrieb’s Hunter Gatherers is the only play I know that takes its view of human nature from the relatively new science of evolutionary psychology. But no one could call Nachtrieb’s work sexist— it’s too damn funny. ” (Broad Street Review.com, 2012) Ahhh, yes…it’s The Garage Theatre’s 50th Show, and it’s extra saucy. Enjoy.
